On February 20, 1983, 60 Minutes aired a segment on Harris Neck.  Through interviews with former Harris Neck residents, other members of McIntosh County, U.S. Fish and Wildlife employees and the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Interior, Mike Wallace revealed the story of the Harris Neck community from its beginning through the first, but unsuccessful, movement for the return of the land.
